TariffMan are proud to announce the imminent launch of their unique GSM cellular tracking service
PINGz. It is importnat that the reader understand that this is NOT just another LBS (location based service) such as those publicised on the web. This service is unique in many ways which cannot be explained or divulged on a website, suffice to say that it is significantly more accurate than all current forms of
GSM tracking and that it is clever enough to increase its accuracy over time and as more users come on board.
Current competitor technologies: LBS - Location Based services
Sometimes referred to as positioning, with control plane locating the service provider gets the location based on the radio signal delay of the closest cell-phone towers (for phones without GPS features) which can be quite slow as it uses the 'voice control' channel. In the
UK, networks do not use trilateration; LBS services use a single base station, with a 'radius' of inaccuracy, to determine a phone's location. This technique was the basis of the E-911 mandate and is still used to locate cellphones as a safety measure.
The downsides to this service are that it is not very Accurate, it is not a global solution (as the system relies upon information from the mobile networks and this is not always available or accurate either). In short it works by the network providing cell tower data as to which tower is currently servicing the chosen target (cellphone). ie, Tower abc00123 is positioned here, so the target must be anywhere within xx km from here!.
With our solution, the location data is not derived from the networks, but from the cellphone itself. With the downloading of a small data applet to the device, we can effectively "ping" the cellphone and it will send us the signal strength of at least 6 of its nearest cell towers regardless of their networks. This means that rather than relying on one single tower, we can triangulate with much greater accuracy. Also, we do not even need the GSM networks cooperation to do this. Thus creating a truly global system.
Currently being tested and used to great effect by several governments and security forces because of its ease of use and accuracy, we are now ready to offer this service commercially.
The system is a web-based solution, with nearly 90% of all gsm cellphones and modems supported including Blackberry and symbian models. Set up is very easy and you can be up and running within minutes.
Obviously There are many more Unique selling points to our service, one of them being very low start up costs for the end user. (from as little as £1.00 per device per month) but we want to keep them off of the website at this stage. We are very keen to offer this service to all consumer and commercial customers and are actively looking for global resellers.
